About
Vision
It is my hope that after their child attended Small Sprouts Preschool parents are confident they, not only, made the right decision enrolling their child, but witnessed their child grow cognitively, socially, intellectually, and emotionally.
In the future, my students will have become innovative thinkers, compassionate, confident, collaborative individuals who have become contributing members of their communities and society. Mission
My mission is to provide every child with a quality early childhood educational experience. I strive to cultivate a safe, nurturing, hands-on, and developmentally appropriate environment that enriches each child’s intellectual, social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and creative abilities while inspiring them to discover.
Philosophy
I believe that preschoolers are capable of learning simple literacy and numeracy skills and can shine in the proper environment. I also believe that children learn through play and that they play to learn. It is my goal to fuse academics with play so children learn while being engaged and stimulated. The development of social skills are not forgotten. They are integrated throughout the program.
Every child is unique in their own special way and every child learns differently. That is why I use a variety of teaching approaches to appeal to various learning styles; Visual, Auditory, Tactile/Kinesthetic. Each child will be allowed to learn at their own pace without being pushed towards achieving developmental milestones. Children in my program are given a chance to work both independently and in small and large groups. By doing so independence and exploration can blossom and social skills will evolve. Children should have the opportunity to grow socially, emotionally, and intellectually through developmentally appropriate activities. I believe in providing a warm, caring, consistent, and responsive environment. It is important to be one that is safe, fosters friendships, comfort with self and others, compassion, and a link to the community. My philosophy is to provide an effective learning environment with a respectful, honest partnership between teacher and child, but also between teacher and parents. One that is grounded in mutual respect and trust. A parent is the child’s most important teacher. Teachers and parents need to partner together to learn from each other and continue the learning at home. |
